Got back from LA Monday afternoon after a 24hr+ journey because of delays, though it feels like only a few hours ago that I was at LAX airport

This trip was almost entirely holiday only, though I did shoot with [info]stevedietgoedde, [info]venuswept and Taslimur. Had a great time, almost as good as last month's London extravaganza but sadly didn't last as long. Highlights included circus night at the Edison, dinner at The Stinking Rose (omg soo good), a day exploring rockpools at Laguna Beach, day trip to Six Flags (where I screamed in a most girlish manner), hanging out with friends and meeting new people, some good lazing around on the world's comfiest giant beanbag whilst reading, listening and watching some of my favourite films.

Haven't been up to much else really, I've had a bit of a break from shooting. But back into the swing of things from tomorrow and the rest of July. Tomorrow I'm flying to Portugal to shoot for a week! Rather looking forward to that as I've not been to Portugal before (going to Faro, right on the South coast, it's going to be crazy hot!).

In other news, Steve gave me a copy of his GoeddeConcerto CD while I was in LA too...

"Robert Waechter, concertmaster of the Philharmonic Orchestra/Opera de Nice, France, and Steve Diet Goedde, internationally renowned erotic photographer, have released an audio/visual collaboration entitled GoeddeConcerto. The CD features 21 concertos inspired by 21 photographs by Steve Diet Goedde. Robert personally picked the photographs which inspired him and then composed and conducted each individual piece for the CD. The CD contains a 24-page booklet of the photographs to accompany the music."

I have 3 images in the CD booklet from our first ever shoot in September 2007. It really doesn't seem that long ago!

I just got a couple of the new images we shot last week too...

Yerbury Classic Nude Workshop

On Tuesday I modelled for another Yerbury Workshop at the beautiful Maunsel House about 10 minutes drive from my house. The last workshop we did there was back in February (linky) when the grounds were covered in snow, so we mostly stayed indoors but this time I spent the majority of the day outdoors.

Arrived around 9am and got ready with Lozie who was also modelling. She introduced me to Vaseline Cocoa Butter body oil which I absolutely have to get some of, it makes a really nice delicate sheen on the skin.

The morning was spent with Trevor giving a talk and then demonstrating how they work, setting up different shots with Lozie and I while the delegates listened and took a few of thier own shots.

Then break for lunch, they provide the most yummy food at Maunsel House! Home-made chicken and mushroom pie with many vegetables and then apple pie and custard for desert. I was pretty hungry and managed two helpings of main course and also polished off desert (and this was after eating plenty of coconut biscuits on the coffee breaks earlier! I think modelling naked makes me more hungry than usual!). I love the room that lunch is served in at Maunsel too, it's like a small bar with stone walls all totally covered in antique weapons and taxidermy mounts. I need to take some photos if I'm there again sometime!

After lunch the delegates split into two groups (one indoor group with Trevor and one outdoor group with Faye) and got to set up thier own shots and try out what they had learned in the morning. I modelled for both outdoor groups, really enjoying the mild weather. The wind was slightly chilly but I totally forget about that once I get into posing. Managed to get a little more scraped than I intended by doing odd poses on my shoulders on the hard groud (but it looked cool, this is the important thing!) and went home feeling tired but satisfied that I had done a good job. Muscles aching slightly the next day, but in that good way that means I wored hard!

There are several of Trevor ad Faye's images already up on their blog, I think this one is my favourite of me so far :)

Hope everyone had a nice St Valentine's day, if you're into that sort of thing! I made use of my National Trust membership and had a day out at Castle Drogo, known as the last castle to be built in England. Though it's more of a folly than a real castle. It was still cool. Went on a small rooftop tour with amazing views out over Dartmoor. The highlight of this was meeting the castle kitty which had decided to venture out on to the roof :)

Being a little spoilt for choice on pics to post today. First pics from my recent shoot with John Tisbury. It's been a long time since I shot anything remotely involving bondage, though obviously this was much more decorative than serving any restrictive purpose!

several more with less odd posing...! )

And secondly, I just got sent some preview images from another of the photographers, Viran De Silver, who shot me at the Yerbury Workshop at Maunsel House (hopefully it's obvious by now why I kept pimping this workshop so much! :)

and here's 1 more.. )

I was quite pleased with the makeup on that last one (did it myself with some new stuff I got in the sales).

Aside from a lingering sniffle and cough, I'm almost recovered from the ill of this week. My body suddenly realised I hadn't eaten properly for 3 days yesterday and I was met with ravenous hunger soon fulfilled by an enormous plate of home made chilli. I love cooking chilli, it's one of the few things I can cook well. Excessive amount of birds eye dried peppers is the key. Though I always forget not to touch my nose or eyes after handling them. Tonight I shall be continuiing the tasty food theme with a big juicy steak with peppercorn sauce and garlic mushrooms. Nom nom.

Alas no TG for me. Mixture of feel-that-I-should-rest but mostly because I'm still waiting on payment for a big job I did last month that I was expecting to have by now, so a bit broke until it comes through. And as I am temporarily without a railcard, I don't even want to consider how much the full train fare to London is.

I also wanted to share this image I got sent from photographer Tom Lee. It was shot at the Yerbury Seminar I modelled for recently. I mentioned in a previous entry here that the delegates had the afternoon to set up their own shots. I was particularly looking forward to seeing the images from the copper bathtub, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! This is the first one so far. I am also liking the way my butt is reflecting the colour of the copper reflections! lol.

Just reading the LJ news post regarding policy changes... "Non-sexualized, non-graphic images of nudity are no longer considered to be explicit adult content" Hurrah! I always felt annoyed having to label my art nude pics as 'explicit'. I'm not sure I can be bothered to go back through my journal and change all the entries, but from now on I wont be censoring my art nudes.

Which brings me nicely on to this new image, shot in about 5 minutes at the first workshop I did for the Yerburys at the convention last week. I really love it. Though if we'd had time I would have liked to re-shoot it so I was stood on tip-toe rather than halfway between. Damn my big feet ><.

I went to see a friend's gig on Monday. I felt bad that in all the time I've known Antonio (sometime since I was at Uni so at least 4 years) I've never heard him play before, he had a great voice and infectious energy. It made me kind of regret that I live in a field in the middle of nowhere and don't have the chance very often to just pop out and see singers and friends in the evenings.

In other record-breaking news, I shall be setting foot in a gym for the first time ever later today. Just for an introductory taster thing, I'm dreading the bit where they measure my current level of fitness!

Oh, and thanks to [info]demondaz for this scan from the new Bizarre Magazine. I have 2 small pics I didn't know about for a feature on 'steampunk fashion', nice to see familiar names Mother of London and Antiseptic Fashion :) I haven't read the articles yet so can't comment on the written content, but the choice of images seems good!

This is going to be a bit of a picture orientated, lacking in text kind of post. I realised I've been hoarding new pics and some pretty tearsheet type things as I didn't have time to update properly while I was away.

Since I got back from France I keep trying to type like I'm still using the French keyboard, especially the number keys! It's odd how quickly I trained myself to change typing habits!

I'm loving this new pic from my recent shoot with [info]jasontang :)

If only there had been a video camera to film me when I stood back up out of this pose. I totally lost my balance and went stumbling rapidly off the platform with my arms flailing everywhere and nearly pulled the whole thing down.

I also really like this new pic from a shoot I did for photographer Pete Marsh. He usually specialises in black & white or sepia toned images and this was an experimental shoot for him. I just love pale skin shot against white backgrounds contrasted with red/orange hair :) Kind of reminds me of the Fifth Element.

In other news, I have an interview/feature in the debut issue of Lipstick Royalty Magazine this month, it's just an online-only magazine but they wrote such nice things about me, it was nice to read. Was also nice to not have my words or answers changed for once! And also a full page in the new issue of Gazelland Magazine - awesome magazine mostly dedicated to pictures of pretty androgynous creatures and arty types in crazy excessive makeup and styling! :)

Rather than repost the pics and stuff if anyone is interested most of them are on my website here except the Gazelland page which is on my myspace.

Oh, is anyone going to Torture Garden for NYE? I can't decide what I'm doing!

Hello dear LJ, how I have abandoned thee. It's probably only been a few days (I haven't checked) but feels like I haven't updated in ages. I've been in the house still trying to get over this weird cold/flu thing that has persisted for over 2 weeks.

Thanks to Benylin and some paracetamol it's seems to be clearing up now, at last so should be all good and shiny for the Xpo. I almost forgot I'm also doing a workshop on the sunday at Switch Photography Studio. The photographer is Tony Nutley so should be pretty cool :)

Oh, don't know if anyone remembers me posting about a seller on ebay who sold me a fake DVD? They have another ebay account and are now selling the DVDs using images hotlinked from my website! (It's a hairdressing DVD). My site doesn't actually allow hotlinking so the images are all broken but it still made me laugh. People can be so dumb.

I was interviewed by a large french art nude site recently. The interview isn't up yet as I guess it's being translated, but they put a small 'coming soon' thing up on thier main page and I got a ridiculous amount of hits on my website from it. I actually went over my (pretty big) monthly bandwidth allowance for the first time I can remember since I got linked on Fleshbot (3 years ago!). lol. I'll post the english version of the interview up once the french version is online. My answers were a bit long and waffling. I usually only write one or two senetences when I get interviewed but I had a look at the other models and they all had massive paragraphs so I felt maybe I should write more (but I kinda suck at writing stuff like that).

New pic by Mick Waghorne that I'm quite fond of:

Haven't been up to much else that I can remember. Been getting lots of drawing done now I don't have a day job, which is really great. Trying out some new media and a slightly different more colorful style. Will try and get more of it posted over at [info]miss_charlotina soon.

I started writing this journal yesterday but the library closed before I had time to post it..

"Currently in Reading visiting [info]goth_amalthea but she has dumped me in front of the interwebz at the University while she goes to some meeting. I didn't realise I have quite a big screen on my laptop at home, and must apologise for subjecting people to massive images when I update LJ usually, they look small on my screen at home! lol.

That's as far as I got yesterday! I'm still finding that shimmery stuff I covered myself in everywhere.

I also wanted to share some more images from Simon Richardson

under the cut, quite large pics )

I seem to be doing quite a lot of hiding my face for some reason!

There are quite a few more on my website here too though cos I couldn't make up my mind which I liked best.

I posted a couple on deviantart yesterday and was absolutely amazed to sign in this morning and find 'Fire Inside' had over 800 favs. My art nude images are usually pretty much overlooked on deviantart compared to the other stuff I do so I was rather happy about it. I know 'popularity' isn't really important but it is nice to have some recognition every now and then, especially on stuff I'm proud of.

Forgotten Dreams

This week is the first week in about 3 months when I've had absolutely no bookings or anything to do. I should be more bothered but am actually quite enjoying sitting around and relaxing surrounded by marker pens and unfinished drawings. Even managed to go to the recycling centre yesterday and get rid of a load of cardboard and plastic bottles that have been hoarded in my kitchen for way too long. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was at the recycling place.

Simon Richardson posted the first couple of images from our shoot on his OMP profile. He even offered to send me a CD so I could see how the rest of them turned out, so hopefully should have a few more in the next week or so. Here are the first 2:

And the other is on my website gallery HERE.

I like that it looks a bit like a painting :)

Speaking of nudes, I made a rare entry over at my deviantart journal on the topic of nudity in response to some random troll who said I was sad because I needed to show my boobs to be popular (the same one who made the fake boobs comment actually!). It was quite nice to see that a lot of people share my own views about nudes in art and being naked in general. I'm never sure what people think of all the art nudes that I do. Most people know me for all the crazy latex fashion stuff I guess. Not that I mind, I do love both :)

Oh, I'm published again this month in Advanced Photoshop Magazine with 2 of my pics by Slingshot (scan here). I'm glad the robot one finally got published, even though it's only a small section of the page, I think it's still the best one I've done with Jules. I think I'm supposed to be in the new Black Meringue Mag this month too but I'm not sure when it's out.

Beaches and cameras

Anyhoo, what I was going to write about before this was what I've been up to this weekend. Had a 7am start on saturday shooting in Cornwall with David Holmes, shooting a mixture of location art nude and something a bit different for me, some 'lifestyle' type images of me in beach and surfing gear jumping around on the beach and running through the surf. There were some brief sunny periods but for the most part it was dull and windy and I felt rather silly (not to mention freezing) standing in the sea wearing a bikini when the only other people on the beach were a family wrapped in coats and scarves flying kites! But when the sun was out it was very nice, and I still enjoyed it. I never feel like I've worked hard enough unless I'm totally knackered and suffer a bit. lol. Ooh and I got to keep the surfing clothes and matching jewellry which was a pleasant surprise :)

edit: just got sent some pics from saturday :)

1 more surf type one, and one (really big) art nude )

Today had a bit of a lie in as I didn't start till 1pm, this time down in Weymouth. I was shooting with Scott Chappell, who I've been discussing shooting with for ages. We were shooting at [info]kenp666s studio/house so I got to say hi to Kevin and Lily the kitties again :) Did some nice art nude stuff involving me holding old fashioned cameras as well as a bit of latex stuff. I'm hoping I'll be allowed to post some of the pics but haven't asked permission yet. Have seen a couple already on net-model though, they're pretty cool. And Ken also found more medical equipment! I am now the proud owner of a neat little metal box of new goodies including a rib cutter *boogie*
